How To: Watercolour Aloha Card

Hi crafty friends! I’m sharing another watercolour card as part of the Scrappy Tails Design Team, celebrating the beautiful Tropical bliss collection

Being a big plant fan (14 houseplants and counting!) I love the Assorted Tropical Leaves Dies from Scrappy Tails. On my latest work trip, I brought some watercolour die cuts with me to paint.

I die cut the Scrappy Tails Assorted Tropical Leaves several times from white watercolour cardstock, which fit nicely in a small tupperware box to bring along. I painted the leaves in various hues of green water colour paints and left to dry. I then adhered two white die cuts behind each painted leaf.

I wanted to create some subtle texture in the background, and thought the Scrappy Tails A7 Aloha Tropical Leave Cover Plate Metal Craft Die would be perfect. I dry embossed the cover plate on to white die cut using my die cutting machine and an embossing mat. I cut this panel down to A2 and adhered on to a white card base.

I then adhered my assorted leaves on to the panel, in the bottom right corner. I die cut the ‘Aloha' sentiment three times from black card stock, and the shadow from vellum (both dies are included in the Scrappy Tails A7 Aloha Tropical Leave Cover Plate Metal Craft Die). I adhered my sentiment on to the leaves and finished with some oil slick gems.

Thank you so much for reading my post, please let me know what you think in the comments below.
