There are so many ways to incorporate rainbows into your cards, from colouring with pencils to stamping rainbow images. I’ve shared a look at three fun and easy ways below.
The cards I’m sharing today all feature rainbows in some format. I was inspired by the latest Stay Crafty with Hero Arts challenge (number 26), and it got me thinking about all the different ways to incorporate rainbows into cards.
Rainbow Colouring
My first card, and the one(s) that initially inspired this blog post, feature the Hero Arts peek a boo bookcase stamp. I’ve coloured the image in a rainbow pattern - starting top right for the card above, and top left for my card below - with my colouring pencils and added my sentiment to vellum.
Another way to do rainbow colouring is with your inks. Here I’ve used a variety of distress oxide inks with this beautiful Pink Fresh studio stencil, and adhered a mirrored cardstock sentiment also from PFS.
Coloured Cardstock
Another fantastic way to achieve the look of rainbows is with rainbow colours of cardstock. I‘ve used multi coloured cardstock with a fun herringbone pattern technique taught during the Online Card Classes, Crushing on Cardstock workshop.
Rainbow Images
Another way to add rainbows to your cards is to stamp a rainbow image as a focal point. On the card below I’ve used the wonderful Brighter Days stamp set from Concord and 9th, along with some matching coloured cardstock strips behind.
